Hi everyone, this is Seoul East Team 1! π
We recently went on a little day trip to Danyang and honestly, it turned out to be so much fun that we just had to share it here. So let's jump right into our travel diary~ ππ¨
π― First Stop: Guinsa Temple
We started the day bright and early, driving out from Seoul to Guinsa Temple. Honestly, none of us really knew what to expect, but this place is not like your typical temple at all!
It's built up the side of a mountain, with all these tall buildings connected by stairs and little bridges. It kind of felt like discovering a hidden village in the mountains.

We stopped for a group photo at Cheonwangmun, the big gate guarded by the Four Heavenly Kings. Then we walked over to Sambo-dang and took another group shot there too β had to capture the memories!
One of our favorite little moments was at the lantern display for Bongchuk β there were tons of lanterns strung up, and visitors could write their wishes on paper and tie them onto the strings. Of course we all wrote our own wishes too π (no spoilers on what we wished for)

After that, we climbed up to Daejosajeon to see the Buddha statues inside. It was such a peaceful moment !

Prayers are so strong they lift you off the ground πβοΈ

π§ Lunch Time: Garlic Everything at Danyang Gugyeong Market

By this point we were all starrrrrrrrrrving, so we headed to Danyang Gugyeong Market for lunch. Did you know Danyang is super famous for garlic? Like, garlic is basically the star ingredient of the whole town! (ALSO KOREANS ARE REALLY INTO GARLIC HAHA)
We tried
Garlic fried chicken (λ§λ λκ°μ ) β crispy, sweet, garlicky Chicken
Garlic bread (λ§λλΉ΅) β soft and buttery bread with a nice garlic kick
We probably smelled like garlic for the rest of the day, but zero regrets π

π€ Dodam Sambong + Motorboat Ride
Next, we went to see Dodam Sambong, the three famous rock peaks rising out of the river.
They've been a well-known scenic spot since the Joseon Dynasty, and seeing them in person, it's easy to understand why.
But we didn't stop there, we hopped on a motorboat to ride out onto the river and see the peaks up close from the water! The wind in our hair, the speed, everyone screaming and laughing... honestly one of the best parts of the whole trip.

π€οΈ Last Stop: Mancheonha Skywalk
To wrap up the day, we climbed up to Mancheonha Skywalk. The walk up was a little tiring, but the view at the top? Totally worth it. You could see the entire Danyang landscape from up there β the river winding through the mountains, the town below, everything.
There's even a glass floor section, which had some of us a little nervous to walk across, haha. But it made for a great photo spot and honestly, the whole view from up there was breathtaking.

π Wrapping Up
That's it for our Danyang trip diary! From the peaceful temple morning, to garlic-everything lunch, to a thrilling boat ride, and finally a stunning mountain view to end the day.
It really was such a memorable trip WITH KOPLE EAST TEAM 1 : )

If you're ever looking for a day trip that's a little different from the usual Seoul spots, we highly recommend Danyang! πSee you in our next post~ π
