🏞️ About the Destination

🕊️ Cheorwon DMZ Zone

A former war zone now transformed into a space of peace, reflection, and learning. This border area offers a rare look into Korea’s divided history—and hope for reunification.

The 2nd Underground Tunnel (제2땅굴)

Discovered in 1975, this tunnel—dug by North Korea—was designed for a surprise attack on the South. It stretches over 3.5 km and could move 30,000 troops per hour. Walking inside this space is a sobering yet powerful reminder of Korea’s painful past.

Peace Observatory (평화전망대)

Located near the DMZ, this observatory offers panoramic views across the border into North Korea. Inside, you'll find a film screening room and exhibits that recount the war and ongoing division—making the reality of the 38th parallel both visual and emotional.

Woljeong-ri Station (월정리역)

The northernmost railway station in South Korea. Abandoned and bombed during the war, it now stands as a frozen-in-time monument to a divided nation. The famous slogan painted on a rusting train car—“The Iron Horse Wants to Run” (천마는 달리고 싶다)—symbolizes the enduring dream of reunification.
