This year marks the 62nd Suwon Hwaseong Festival, a nationally celebrated cultural festival that honors King Jeongjo’s 1795 grand procession for his mother’s 60th birthday.

Suwon Hwaseong Fortress

Built in 1796 under King Jeongjo to honor his father and pursue reform. Now a UNESCO World Heritage site, it’s one of Korea’s finest historic landmarks.

Suwon Hwaseong Cultural Festival

Launched in 1964, now in its 62nd year, this is one of Korea’s most iconic cultural festivals. It celebrates King Jeongjo’s legacy with reenactments, traditional performances, hands-on programs, XR experiences, and a spectacular night show at Banghwasuryujeong Pavilion.
