🏛️ Overview

Join us for a two-day journey to Goseong, a coastal town where ancient heritage and creative performance meet.
Through this workshop, participants will experience Korea’s living traditions — from the Goseong Ogwangdae Mask Dance (a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage) to archaeological treasures such as the Songhak-dong Tombs.
“University Mask-dance Club Alliance, Seoul” will be joining us on the trip to have great memories together! UMCA-Seoul is an alliance of clubs in four universities (Chung-Ang University, Korea University, Sungshin Women's University, Seoul Women’s University). We all learn and perform Goseong Ogwandae Mask dance and deeply cherish the values of our traditions.
We will be staying at Goseong Ogwandae Mask dance Preservation Center, which has its own seminar rooms, accommodation, and canteen. But main meals will be served in local restaurants!

🌿 Organizer’s Note

This workshop bridges the gap between heritage and creativity, offering participants a connection between ancient wisdom and modern imagination.

Through the rhythm of drums and the stories behind each mask, we’ll explore what it means to find our own face in a fast-changing world.

I first encountered Korean mask dance as a casual hobby during university — but soon, I completely fell in love with it.

My wish for this workshop is to share that same joy with you by providing a truly meaningful mask dance experience.

What I love most about Korean traditional culture is the spirit of togetherness.

A performance becomes complete only when performers unite with one another, and when performers and the audience become one.

Let’s create that harmony together — through movement, laughter, and art.
