🏛️ Guinsa Temple (구인사)

Guinsa is the head temple of the Cheontae Order of Korean Buddhism and is a large-scale temple complex located on the slopes of Sobaeksan Mountain in Danyang, North Chungcheong Province. Established in 1945, the temple is characterized by its stepped layout, with multiple halls built along the natural contours of the mountain. It features a blend of traditional temple structures and modern architectural elements, including major worship halls such as Daejosajeon and Gwangmyeongjeon, as well as spaces dedicated to Buddhist practice. Various Buddhist ceremonies and religious services are held throughout the year, making it an important religious center visited by devotees from both Korea and abroad.

🧭 Danyang Gugyeong Market (단양구경시장)

Danyang Gugyeong Market is a representative traditional market in the Danyang area, serving both local residents and tourists. The market includes agricultural products, regional specialties, restaurants, snack shops, and street food vendors, with many dishes featuring Danyang’s well-known garlic. Popular local foods include garlic sundae (blood sausage), garlic chicken, and dakgangjeong (sweet and spicy fried chicken). The market has undergone modern facility improvements to provide a relatively comfortable environment and remains closely connected to the local economy as a community-based commercial space.

✒️ Dodamsambong (도담삼봉)

Dodamsambong consists of three rock peaks rising from the center of the Namhan River and is one of the most well-known scenic sites designated as part of the Eight Scenic Views of Danyang. The formation includes the central Janggunbong Peak, flanked by Cheobong and Cheopbong, and is associated with historical anecdotes related to Jeong Do-jeon, a founding contributor of the Joseon Dynasty. Its distinctive geological formation, emerging directly from the water, allows visitors to appreciate the scenery throughout all four seasons, with sunrise and sunset views being particularly notable. The surrounding area is equipped with walking paths and viewing facilities, offering relatively easy access for visitors.

🌉 Mancheonha Skywalk (만천하스카이워크)

Mancheonha Skywalk is a complex observation and tourism facility designed to provide panoramic views of downtown Danyang and the Namhan River area. Located at approximately 320 meters above sea level, it features a circular glass-floor observatory. From the platform, visitors can overlook the Danyang River and the surrounding mountain landscape. The site also operates experiential leisure attractions such as a zipline and an alpine coaster, combining natural scenery with recreational activities and serving as one of the region’s representative tourist destinations.

구인사는 대한불교천태종의 총본산으로, 충청북도 단양군 소백산 자락에 위치한 대규모 사찰이다. 1945년에 창건되었으며, 산의 지형을 따라 여러 전각이 계단식으로 배치되어 있는 것이 특징이다. 전통 사찰 구조와 현대식 건축 양식이 혼합된 형태를 보이며, 대조사전·광명전 등 주요 법당과 수행 공간이 조성되어 있다. 연중 다양한 불교 행사와 법회가 열리며, 국내외 신도들의 방문이 이어지는 종교적 중심지이다.
🧭 구경시장
