0912-0913 Buyeo trip

Hello! We’re Team Jeolla 1, jeollajaeil.

We finally went on our first trip together as the Jeolla Branch!
And our very first destination was Buyeo, a city rich in history and culture.

In Buyeo, where the history of Baekje still lives on, we explored various places with our Jeolla Branch friends, enjoyed some delicious food, and had a wonderful time together.

So, let’s take a look at the story of our very first trip! 🚌✨

📍 Buyeo Royal Tombs, Naseong Fortress

This was our first destination, Buyeo Royal Tombs!
Unfortunately, we couldn’t go inside due to preservation reasons. 🥲

This is the Baekje Gilt-bronze Incense Burner!

It was accidentally discovered while workers were digging the ground to build a parking lot. But how could this incense burner have been preserved so well for over 1,400 years?

It turns out that it was found inside a water tank beneath the floor of a building. Because it had very little contact with the outside environment for such a long time, it was able to remain relatively intact.

Thanks to this, we can still see the remarkable metalworking skills of Baekje from over 1,400 years ago!

📍 Buyeo National Museum

We also got to see the actual Baekje Gilt-bronze Incense Burner! ✨

📍 Jeongnimsa Temple Site Five-Story Stone Pagoda

Seeing it in person, it was much bigger than we expected!
We were amazed by its grandeur.

For lunch, we had bibimbap and grilled mackerel.

📍 Buyeo Modern History & Culture Festival

After lunch, we also visited the Modern History & Culture Festival and…

We got to enjoy various activities, including making dalgona!

📍 Baekje Lotus Flower Fragrance-Making Experience

Here, we got to make our own perfume!

It was even better because we could beautifully package our perfumes to take home.

We were told that the perfume needs to sit for about two weeks before we can use it, so we’re already looking forward to trying it!

You haven’t forgotten about it, right? 😉😉

They even prepared lots and lots of snacks for us! 🧡

We also got to try on beautiful traditional Baekje clothing and take some photos. 📸

📍 Sigaeol Tongdak

We headed out for dinner and had some fried chicken.

Everyone enjoyed it much more than we expected, which made us really happy! 🍗

📍 Subukjeong Pavilion

After a satisfying dinner, we headed to Subukjeong Pavilion!

We were so happy to have the chance to enjoy such beautiful, high-quality music at Subukjeong Pavilion.

📍 Jaonde Accomodation

After finishing all our activities for the day, we got together to have some drinks and play games.

This is definitely one of the best parts of a one-night, two-day trip!!

We even lay down on the floor and enjoyed looking at the stars. ✨

We also got to watch the sunrise the next morning! Isn’t the view beautiful? 🧡

For breakfast, we had bulgogi sandwiches.

📍 Shin Dong-yup Literature Museum

Our first stop on the second day was the Shin Dong-yup Literature Museum!

Here, we learned about Shin Dong-yup, a poet from Buyeo.

Through his representative works, “Let the Shells Go” and “Geumgang,” he captured the history and reality of the Korean people in his poetry.

There’s even a saying that touching poet Shin Dong-yup’s hand will help you become a better writer.

After that, we took the bus to Gongju.

📍 Gongju Magoksa Temple Temple Food Experience

We also got to make traditional temple food using these ingredients!

Thanks to the kind and detailed instructions, everyone was able to create their own beautiful temple food set! 🌿

Wrapping everything up in a handkerchief made it look even prettier.

We enjoyed our homemade lunch while taking in beautiful scenery. 🤤

After finishing our meal, we had some free time to explore the area and take some fun photos! 📸

And just like that, Team Jeolla 1’s one-night, two-day trip to Buyeo came to an end! 🧡

Spending two days and one night together on our first trip gave us a chance to get much closer to one another. We shared lots of laughs, conversations, and unforgettable memories along the way.
